After driving towards the east, following the north coast we will pass the city of Heraklion and then continue towards the inland of Crete until the excursion highlight: the visit to the Palace of Knossos. This is one of the most significant archaeological sites in the world, the actual cradle of European culture. Here you will be guided (about 2 hours) through the fascinating story of the Minoan period. Afterwards the bus will bring you in the heart of the capital city of Crete Heraklion.It follows a visit at the archaeological museum of Heraklion where you can enjoy more from the Minoan period escorted from our guide. Finally you have two hours free to enjoy the city of Herklion and walk around the old city before we take our way back to Rethymno.
